This course offers an educational alternative to animal and pet-related criminal violations. It also provides homeowners and renters a way to reduce insurance costs, and to enable insurance companies a way to reduce the risks and liabilities associated with pets and animals.
AnimalCourts.com is a production of ActiveEyeQ, LLC. Dr. Philip P. Taylor, JD, PhD, is ActiveEyeQ, LLC.’s managing member, and the creator and executive producer of AnimalCourts.com. Dr. Taylor completed his undergraduate studies at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate (JD) law degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his Master’s degree (MJS) and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Judicial Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. When Dr. Taylor received his PhD, he was only the eighth person worldwide to have earned that degree. Additionally, Dr. Taylor completed Judicial Development Certificates in Special Court Jurisdiction and Alternative Dispute Resolution at The National Judicial College.
Dr. Taylor has over thirty years of experience in the legal profession working as a lawyer, as well as serving as a judge. As a lawyer, he has helped individuals, families, small and large businesses, and domestic and international insurance companies with their various legal needs. As a judge, Dr. Taylor handled a variety of criminal matters, including ordinance, misdemeanor, and felony cases involving animals. He has presided over a major metropolitan county ordinance court and assisted in establishing a special municipal ordinance court. Dr. Taylor also served as an adjunct professor of political science teaching American Government, and Federal Court and U.S. Constitution. He also served as faculty for the university joint enrollment and honors department. Additionally, Dr. Taylor has served as a faculty member for the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education and Georgia Institute of Continuing Judicial Education. AnimalCourts.com was developed as result of Dr. Taylor’s unique educational background, his specialized training, and decades long work in the legal profession.
AnimalCourts.com was developed by Dr. Taylor for two main purposes: First, this course offers an educational alternative to animal and pet related criminal violations. These criminal violations and cases are traditionally resolved by imposing fines, fees, probation, and jail time. The United States Supreme Court and Department of Justice, however, instruct courts to strongly consider alternatives to traditional penalties when resolving criminal cases. AnimalCourts.com provides individuals, judges, and prosecutors an alternative to such traditional, and often ineffective, penalties. AnimalCourts.com affords an opportunity to resolve animal and pet related criminal cases by educating violators. Ask the court or prosecutor if this class is an option in your case. A court may allow the AnimalCourts.com class to be the only condition needed to resolve a case, or it can be ordered as an additional requirement if the case warrants other penalties. AnimalCourts.com can be used the same way a defensive driving class is used to resolve traffic tickets. That’s why we at AnimalCourts.com say that it is:
The second reason Dr. Taylor developed AnimalCourts.com is to provide homeowners and renters a way to reduce insurance costs, and to enable insurance companies a way to reduce the risks and liabilities associated with insuring households with pets and animals. In 2019, dog bites and related injuries alone accounted for one-third of all homeowners’ insurance claims costing more than $796.8 million. That cost is astronomical!
Many, if not most, of the claims could have been avoided. Unfortunately, policyholders and insurance companies did not have ready and easy access to important, preventative information. AnimalCourts.com provides policyholders and insurance companies the ready and easily accessible information that could result in the reduction, if not near elimination, of such astronomical claims costs. Ask your insurance company representative or agent if you can receive a premium discount for completing the AnimalCourts.com class. You and your insurance company may benefit from taking the AnimalCourts.com class the same way drivers and car insurance companies both benefit from drivers taking a defensive driving class. That’s why we at AnimalCourts.com say that it is:
